A project out of my comfort zone!

Abstract Portrait: “Close look of each other”

Portrait painting is not something I am comfortable with. If I have to do one, it is to step out of my comfort zone. It will be like exploring an unfamiliar place, or stepping into a stranger’s house, or joining a conversation which I know nothing about. But I have always wanted to do a portrait of my husband and me. If I have to do one, I shall need to overcome my uncertainty and discomfort. And if I have to do one, it shall be something special and unique for the two of us. Something that is a bit abstract! It shall not look realistic where others can see us in the painting – only we shall think about it.

I was able to paint our much desired and awaited portrait – thanks to these days rainfall! And I am quite happy about the result. My husband too!

The portrait is done with acrylic paints on 50x50x3cm stretched canvas. And now that it hangs on our wall, we feel that it needs a partner or partners beside, maybe in the same style and color shades. How funny because now we are talking about a series of portraits! Yet, it is still out of my comfort zone.

I can’t wait to start the 2nd portrait.
